Qatar extends bid deadline for entertainment city project

Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce has extended the bidding deadline for investors in a project to transform the old Doha Exhibition Center into an integrated entertainment city.
“At the request of investors and for more innovative and high quality proposals, the tender submission deadline has been extended until 18 June 2017”, a public notice said.
The new deadline for purchasing documents is 4 June 2017 and an investor presentation is scheduled for 3 May 2017, the notice said.
Bids must be accompanied by a tender bond of one million Qatari rials ($274,666), the notice added.
The original deadline for announcing the winning bidder was 4 April 2017, according to a December 2017 Zawya Projects report, quoting Qatari media reports.
The entertainment city comprising restaurants, shops and tourist attractions has been allocated a land area of 84,875 square metres (sqm). It includes a built up area of 57,600 sqm, exhibition space of 14,992 sqm , 479 sqm of retail space and 1,200 sqm of outdoor space.
