18 May 2017
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the oil exploration and production company owned by the government of Oman, has invited prequalification applications for providing front-end engineering design (FEED) services for a residential project and detailed design for the associate infrastructure within its Ras Al Hamra staff housing project.
The last date for submitting prequalification applications is 22 May, 2017, said a PDO official.
The residential component Phase 3-5B will supply 506 housing units and construction may begin next year.
Located 25 km off Muscat International Airport, Ras Al Hamra Development project is a 281-hectare community project for PDO’s employees and their families comprising 1,047 residential units, a school, medical centre, a 9-hole golf course, a 5-star boutique hotel and a mosque.
The first phase comprising 241 residential units was awarded in 2012.
In March 2017 Thomson Reuters Projects reported that PDO had invited interest from investors to invest, develop and operate a hotel and leisure facilities, a golf club house and redevelop the existing commercial zone within the community.
