Nakheel floats tender for infra works at Madinat Al Arab in Dubai

Dubai-based master developer Nakheel has invited companies to bid for infrastructure works at Madinat Al Arab mixed-use development located at Dubai Waterfront, Jebel Ali.
Infrastructure works will commence on districts A, B, C and D that have a total development area of around 510 hectares, a public invite said.
The scope of works includes testing and verification of existing work as well as carrying out remedial work to the partially completed services network.
According to the invite, the infrastructure works will encompass road network, water supply network, sewage collection and disposal system including three pumping stations, storm water and subsurface drainage system, irrigation network including reservoirs and pumping stations, power supply and street lightning, chilled water network and associated control system (excluding district cooling plant) and gas system (corridor only).
Tender documents are available for a non-refundable fee of 35,000 dirhams ($9,536), and the final date of submission is 18 June 2017.
In February, the developer announced that Dubai-based Dar Al Handasah would provide infrastructure design, engineering and site supervision services for the project.
Nakheel has already completed Veneto and Badrah communities on the Waterfront development, which comprises 800 houses and a community retail centre, due to open in 2017. Nearby, the developer is also building the 42-tower Jebel Ali Gardens community that will house 40,000 people.
Madinat Al Arab is a 522 hectare site with 266 mixed-use land plots.
