International companies visit city of Sakaka and prepare bids for establishment of the first solar power plant in the Kingdom
Riyadh, 21 Sha'ban,1438 AH, 17 May,2017 , SPA -- The Renewable Energy Projects Development Office of Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources held a conference in Riyadh attended by representatives of 27 companies that were qualified to enter the competition for 300 MW solar power first project in the Kingdom.
The Office organized a field visit to the site chosen for the project, in the city of Skaka in Al-Jouf region in the north of the Kingdom, (1100 km north of Riyadh).
The conference and the field visit followed the launch of the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih the bid documents during the Forum on Investment in Renewable Energy in the Kingdom held on last April 17th.
This conference represents an important opportunity for communication between the qualified companies and the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources to develop, discuss and submit inquiries regarding the bid documents and discuss them directly with the Office's officials as the last date to receive bids will be during the month of September this year, while the winning bid will be announced in November of the same year.
