Qatar’s Public Works Authority Ashghal has invited expression of interest (EOI) to prequalify contractors for the construction of a
31,200 sqm complex to house the National Health Laboratories (NHL) at Mesaimeer.
The project will be developed on a 40,000 square metres (sqm) site in Mesaimeer with a total built-up area of 31,200 sqm comprising areas for reception, laboratories and public facilities.
The scope of works also includes maximizing prefabrication and off-site construction, BIM (Building Information Modeling) for shop drawings and as-built information and GSAS 3 Star rating for the project.
The last date for submission is 9 May 2017 and the project is anticipated to start in the third quarter of 2017.
“The establishment of NHL is a core component in the country’s public health plan. The NHL will serve and support public health programmes and will act as a centre for excellence and referral for specialist testing. It will deliver an analytical, testing, research and reference laboratory that underpins public health services across Qatar,” a public invite said.
Ashgal had awarded a 7.2 million Qatari riyals design and construction supervision contract for the project to Faithful+Gould JV in October 2014.
