Jordan has identified 25 projects worth nearly 1.5 billion dinars ($2.1 billion) to be offered to investors in its Southern Aqaba economic zone, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has identified the projects that cover housing, transport, real estate, shopping malls, hospitals, schools, parks, resorts, logistics, sport and fun facilities, industries, exhibition centres and other facilities, Arabic daily Al-Rai said.
"According to a study prepared by ASEZA, the total value of those projects is around $1.5 billion and they are all available for investment," it said, adding that they could provide more than 800,000 jobs.
The paper cited a report by ASEZA showing Aqaba zone has attracted investments in excess of 20 billion dinars ($28 billion) since it was created 16 years ago.
