Egypt-headquartered construction company Societe Egyptiene D Entreprises Moukhtar Ibrahim (SEDE) is bidding for two water projects in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in the UAE, a senior company official told Zawya projects.

Eng Wafaa Tahaa Hussein, Deputy Chairman for Technical Affairs of Abroad Branches said the first project involves design and installation of a 22.4 kilometre sewage network at Al Nahdha and Al Wathba areas and connecting the new network with the existing one.

"This project is in the technical evaluation stage now," she said, adding that it could be one of the biggest wins for the company in the UAE.

The second project involves the construction of a pipeline interconnection from Al Mafraq Bridge to Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi.

Both projects have been floated by Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, Abu Dhabi.

The company, which has implemented projects worth 3 billion dirhams in the UAE since 1994, was recently awarded a 23 million dirhams ($6.26 million) contract for constructing a 12 kilometre water pipeline in Abu Dhabi City.

SEDE is majority owned by the Holding Company for Construction and Development under Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprises.
