Dubai utility service provider Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has floated a tender for construction, supply, installation, testing and commissioning 16 substations of 132/11 kilovolt (kV) each.
The scope of works also includes additional typical 132/11kV substations and associated works.
“The additional typical 132/11kV substations quantity has not been decided. The timeframe to complete the work is 19 to 28 months after the contract is awarded,” a source told Thomson Reuters Projects without indicating the timeline.
The tender documents are available for 5,000 dirhams ($1,362).
The final submission date is 17 May, 2017, according to the DEWA website.
In February 2017, DEWA announced that it plans to build 97 new 132/11 kV substations over the next three years at a projected cost of 10 billion dirhams ($2.72 billion) to support the expansion of power plants in Jebel Ali and Al Aweer.
